About the Position

Camp Zen Commando (CZC) is a human optimization and  performance adventure camp located in the foothills of Lagunas, Costa Rica on the Pacific Coast...approximately five miles from Dominical, Costa Rica's premiere surf destination.   CZC rests on two acres and is surrounded by pristine beauty that includes lush tropical forests, flowing streams, and bountiful fruits and vegetables.  What makes CZC special is the peace, beauty, and solitude of the location. Within short walking distance,  there is full access to numerous swimming holes and waterfalls as well as a nature preserve with countless hiking trails and scenic vistas.  The camp amenities include a fitness facility with weights, yoga / meditation hall, a comfortable guest house, wifi, and a main facility for meals, lectures, and socializing.

1.) JOB DESCRIPTION. The Primary Yoga instructor / Assistant Director will be responsible for all yoga activities during our training courses and will also assist the Program Director with administrative, logistical, and operational requirements to ensure overall success of all training courses.

2.) RESPONSIBILITIES:
-- Instruct four to six students during daily yoga sessions
-- Lead meditative nature walks and meditation sessions
-- Create, develop, and implement yoga type curriculum specific to Zen Commando 
-- Assist in coordinating and tracking client travel and arrangements
-- Ensure logistics and resources are planned and coordinated
-- Assist with any additional duties and functions as required

3.) PREREQUISITES / REQUIREMENTS
-- Certified yoga instructor; fitness background with personal trainer certifications are HUGE PLUSSES
-- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be confident teaching / interacting with people of diverse backgrounds, ages, and ability levels
-- Administration skills and computer literacy are required for this position; proficiency with Microsoft word, Google docs, spreadsheets, and creating presentations is required
-- Background in marketing, advertising, web design, are major plusses 
-- Following personal traits and qualities are preferred: mature; professional; healthy (mind, body, spirit); detail oriented; determined; drama-free; friendly; kind; respectful; independent; nature lover; resilient; tech friendly; affinity for self-growth; situationally aware ("mindful"); and a burning passion for improving the lives of others and the environment around them.

-- You will be working closely with one to two other staff; all duties on the camp are shared duties, such as camp cleanup, maintenance, cleaning of spaces, cooking, etc.

4.)  PAY / INCOME. Currently, this is a five to six month "work to stay" position in a beautiful Costa Rica setting that is peaceful, healthy, friendly, and adventurous.  Zen Commando will provide you a healthy and organized place to live with amenities such as wifi, food, sleep accommodations, and access to everything related to Camp Zen Commando... fitness facility, meditation / yoga studio, swimming pools, mountain bikes, and beautiful beaches only four to five miles away.  As the company grows, there will be opportunities for growth as well as compensation.  Our future successes will depend on each person working together as a team to bring the ultimate adventure experience to our clients.

5.) TIMELINE. We are planning to begin operations January 2020 and request you are available starting beginning of December 2019 so we have four weeks to prepare and work together before courses begin.  This will provide plenty of time to explore Costa Rica and have fun too!
